ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN INDUSTRIAL SAFETY
The Central Labour Institute, Sion, Mumbai conducts one year full time
course known as “Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS)”. This course is
conducted for the prospective Safety Officers and the qualified Safety Officers
as required under the statutes for employment in the factories/industries. This
course is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai.
The essential qualification and experience are:
a)
A recognized Degree in
any branch of Engineering or Technology and relevant practical experience in a
supervisory capacity for a period of not less than two years. OR
b)
A recognized diploma in
any branch of Engineering or Technology and relevant practical experience in a
supervisory capacity for a period of not less than five years. OR
c)
A recognized degree in
Science with Physics or Chemistry and relevant practical experience in a
supervisory capacity for a period of not less than five years.
The experience should be in any one of the following:
i)
Manufacturing, quality
assurance, maintenance or safety in industry;
OR
ii)
Building or other
construction works or department of a Port or Dock; OR
iii)
Research, training or
education in the field of industrial safety or environment; OR
iv)
Government Department
in administration of safety legislation.
The candidates from the States/UTs of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Dadra
& Nagar Haveli and Daman, Diu are eligible for admission to the course at
the Central Labour Institute, Mumbai.
Selection is done by the Selection Committee,
constituted by the Director General, DGFASLI. The committee comprises of Dy.
Director General as its Chairman, one representative from the DISH Govt. of
Maharashtra, one representative from the industry, one departmental officer for
representing SC/ST and two other senior officers from the department. The
selection procedure covers the reservation quota as per Government norms and
the candidates are selected based on marks obtained in the interview.
Examination
The examination is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical
Education. The successful candidates are awarded the Diploma by the Board.
Charges
i)
Fees
Institute fee (Tuition Fee) @ Rs.5000/- per student
for the entire course is to be paid by a crossed demand draft drawn in favour
of “Central Labour Institute, Mumbai”. The fee once paid is neither refundable
nor transferable.
ii)
Library Caution
Money
Deposit of Rs.1000/- in cash (refundable).
2)
TWO MONTHS SPECIALISED
CERTIFICATE COURSE IN “SAFETY AND HEALTH FOR THE ENGINEERS WORKING IN
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY”
Construction industry is one of the major industry in India which always
has high hazard occupation and is accident and injury prone sector. The Central
Labour Institute, Mumbai has started this course to provide an opportunity for
educating and training on Safety, Health and Environment to the Engineers and
Supervisors working at construction sites. After completion of the course these
engineers/ supervisors can work as safety stewards.
The participant who would like to attend the course should possess:
i) A
recognized Degree in Engineering or Technology with not less than one year
experience in construction/industry. OR
ii) A
recognized Diploma in Engineering or Technology with not less than two years
experience in Construction/industry in a supervisory capacity.
Industry sponsored/permitted candidates by merit based upon qualification, experience and aptitude.
Examination
Written and oral examination is conducted during the course (minimum of
marks for qualifying the written examination is 50%). The successful candidates
are awarded certificate by the Director General.
An amount of Rs.1000/- shall be paid as Institute fee for the entire
course. Fee is payable immediately on being offered admission and before
joining the course by a crossed demand draft or A/c Payee cheque payable at
Mumbai drawn in favour of Central Labour Institute, Mumbai.
